Electric Townhouse
A family home which was refurbished to a high standard with architecture by well known London practice and an internationally renowned interior designer. Inspired Dwellings were asked to design and install a comprehensive infrastructure for todays technologies with the pièce de résistance being a Electric Cinema styled home cinema in the basement.
The clients of this family home originally came to us wanting to discuss the possibilities of having a large TV screen and surround sound system installed into their new basement. However, they were unaware of what could be achieved.
The family had worked with AV companies in the past in previous homes, and had always been very unhappy with the result. They found that the control systems installed were complicated, and experienced issues with wi-fi connectivity. As a result, there were often reliability issues with many of their systems. Understandably, when meeting with us they were sceptical, but are now absolutely thrilled with the end result which we have created.
Inspired Dwellings designed a whole home infrastructure with TV & Data points throughout the whole home - with a managed wi-fi network, connectivity was never an issue. Whilst the clients did not require fixed multi room audio, they agreed we should pre-wire speaker cable to ceilings in case it was required at a later date.
In addition to the infrastructure we also installed an independent door entry system so that the clients could see and communicate with visitors at the front door.
For the Audio Visual aspect of the home technology we installed a high-end cinema system in the basement Bar & Living area, as the client specified they very much wanted it to be their family space for watching movies and sports. In other rooms televisions were fitted and all connected to a centralised HD video distribution system so every member of the family can watch the same or different things at the same time. When we showed the client the Control4 system at our offices they loved it and found it incredibly easy to use compared to other systems they had used before. Therefore, this was implemented throughout the property.
